Good full red-ruby. Broad but reticent nose hints at black cherry and chocolate. Juicy, sappy and intense, with strong minerality enlivening the red and black fruit flavors. This too is quite juicy and primary. Finishes with lovely thrust and lingering notes of violet and licorice. Gros noted that the tannins in 2005 are much suppler than those of 1999-a group of wines he said were painfully closed now.
