Score 87/100 · Drink 2019, Neal Martin, May 2019

The 1996 Echézeaux Grand Cru from this defunct producer, is noticeably deep in colour. Tea leaf, dark berry fruit, briary forms the rustic bouquet, quite ferrous with aeration. The palate commences with sour red fruit, slightly bitter in the mouth, grip but with hard tannins and an unyielding, masculine finish typical of this vintage. I cannot really see this going anywhere. Tasted at Domaine Direct's dinner at Noble Rot.
