The 2010 Echézeaux resonates deeply on the palate from the very first taste. An exotic, heady concoction of plums, black cherries, Asian five-spice and menthol conquers the palate and the intellect. Layers of fruit build effortlessly to an intense, powerful finish that covers every inch of the palate. This is another impressive 2010 from Gilles Jayer. I loved it.

Gilles Jayer’s 2010s are stellar. The harvest stretched into October, late even by the standards of the year. All of the wines were aged in 100% new oak and had not been racked at the time of my tastings. I will report on the 2009s in the April issue. Importer: Massanois Imports ; www.massanois.com
