Tasting notes

Tasting notes
Score 87/100 · Robert Parker, Dec 1993

The 1991 Echezeaux is light-bodied for a Jayer wine, as well as more compact and austere. The wine offers an attractive floral, berry-scented nose, spicy, medium-bodied, moderately concentrated flavors, and noticeably hard, astringent tannin in the finish. Robert Jayer is one of the surest-handed winemakers in the Cotes de Nuits, and my reviews of five 1991 offerings are somewhat disappointing in light of what he has accomplished over the last decade. The five 1991 offerings are not the sure bet Jayer's wines have been in the past. Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC.
