Score 96/100 · Drink 1992-2007, Robert Parker, Oct 1992

One of the stars of Burgundy, Robert Jayer has begun the decade of the nineties with what appear to be the finest wines he has ever made. While softer than the Nuits St.-Georges-Les Damodes, the 1990 Echezeaux, shares the same deep black/purple color, with a more compelling and open nose of spring flowers, minerals, black fruits, and toasty oak. Deep, sweet, and much less tannic than the Les Damodes, this seductive wine makes for an opulent mouthful of grand cru Pinot Noir. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC.
