The 1982 Malartic-Lagravière is a rather ordinary Graves in context of the vintage. Two or three bottles indicate some brettanomyces on the nose whilst the palate does make an effort to offer redeeming tarry black fruit, it is beginning to dry out on the finish. Tasted from a personal bottle at home.

Quite pale and diffuse. Simple red wine. Very easy and fruity. At first there seems not to be much structure, then pinched tannins impose a vice-like grip at the end. Desperately needs food. (JR)

Medium red, with amber at the rim. Exotic, evolved aromas of orange peel and cinnamon. Juicy and penetrating, with good vinosity but limited flesh. Finishes with good length but is beginning to decline.
