Score 91-93/100 · Allen Meadows, Burghound

A markedly pungent nose combines notes of petrol, wet stone, green apple, white flowers and a hint of pain grillé. There is excellent power and concentration to the broad-shouldered flavors thanks in part to the plenitude of palate coating dry extract that helps to buffer the moderately firm acid spine on the powerful, serious and stony finish. This is somewhat awkward today and will require a few years to harmonize, but when it does it should be quite good. Tasted: Jun 15, 2014. Drink: 2020+
