Nutty, pure but rather slight for Corton-Charlemagne. Lingering smoke character on the palate, a smattering of tropical fruit. (RH)

A background touch of pain grillé sets off a similar nose of mineral reduction, apple and citrus elements. There is excellent volume to the ripe, round and attractively textured large-scaled flavors that possess good underlying tension and minerality, all wrapped in a long, powerful and mouth coating finish. Here too there is only moderate complexity though the supporting material is such that more will almost certainly develop with bottle age. Tasted: Jun 11, 2013. Drink: 2017+
