Score 85/100 · Drink 2014-2018, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2014

The 2003 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Derrière La Grange has a lovely clean and pure bouquet with vibrant red cherry and strawberry scents that are very “Vosne” in style. The palate is medium-bodied with a slight charred note on the entry. This is a balanced wine, at least during the first half, but the wood feels as if it has exerted too much influence on the fruit in the second half.

Quite seductive and rich. Slight burnt quality. Lots of fruit. Very long and fine. Great concentration of fruit. (JR)
