Tasting notes
A touch of roasted coffee beans on a spicy nose. Immediately seductive. There is a firmness to the fruit here and an undeniable polish in the mouth. Exquisitely silky, with firm power underneath the gloss. This is begging to be drunk, though will blossom in time. Quite lovely.

With toasted and savory aromas, the 2010 Barolo Prapo shows a heavier, more masculine bouquet compared to the more ethereal Brunate expression. Barolo Prapo moves with thicker lines and inner determination. It's a wine of power and heft that has the staying power to withstand many long years in the cellar. Despite its youth, it boasts a complex side with contrasting tones of red cherry, spice and crushed mineral that form a seamless, supple finish.
Serralunga d’Alba. Quite deep ruby. Rather leathery on the nose and closed on the fruit. Lots of sweet fruit on the palate but lacking a little in expression, at least for now. The tannins stand out a little, rendering the finish quite dry. (WS)
Serralunga d’Alba. Mid ruby with the beginning of orange tinges. Lifted red sweet fruit with a green streak. Proper muscular tannic structure, but a little chunky overall. (WS)
