Tasting Notes

Tasting notes
Score 92/100 · Allen Meadows, Burghound

A reticent if very pretty nose displays decidedly ripe red and dark raspberry, cherry and subtle menthol nuances. There is plenty of the characteristic minerality to the refined and attractively vibrant medium weight flavors that possess a distinctly saline character on the clean and mildly austere finish. The tannins are firm but quite fine-grained and this should age well as the balance is impeccable. Note that this will almost certainly require at least 8 to 10 years of bottle age; note further that if you're going to try one young allow for at least 45 minutes of air as the wine improved markedly the longer it was open.
