Tasting notes
This is so powerful and flavorful with lots of peach, blackberry and mineral character. It's full and very round with fine tannins and bright acidity. Love the aftertaste on the finish. An incredible Barbera that shows the masterful winemaking ability of Roberto Conterno as well as the greatness of 2011 for Barbera in Piedmont.

The 2011 Barbera d’Alba Cascina Francia expresses itself with floral tones of pressed rose, wild berry and crushed mineral. The power and intensity of the bouquet is especially attractive and bold. The wine’s dark concentration and thick layers are so beautifully uplifted by those ethereal and almost feminine aromas. These are two very different expressions of Barbera, each one carefully marked by its specific territory. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2022.
About the producer

Giacomo Conterno is arguably Barolo’s most celebrated estate. While most famous for its Monfortino Riserva, the quality found in every bottling of Nebbiolo and Barbera at this address makes them a benchmark producer for both varieties.
