Score 86/100 · Drink 1987, Robert Parker, Jan 1998

The variable 1976 vintage reached its greatest heights in the commune of St.-Julien where a number of fine wines were produced. Talbot is one of them. Fully mature, but capable of holding for several more years, this immensely enjoyable wine has a lovely cedary, spicy, ripe plummy bouquet, soft, round, nicely concentrated flavors, and a velvety, satisfying finish. Anticipated maturity: Now. Last tasted, 11/87.
