Three strong efforts from Latour include the 2007 Pauillac. A sleeper of the vintage, it is a delicious as well as fairly priced introduction to the brilliant winemaking at this noble estate. Its dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by notes of crushed rocks, red and black fruits, medium body, sweet tannin, and a long finish. It should continue to provide plenty of pleasure over the next 7-10 years.

Château Latour’s third wine. Very simple. Easy and a bit facile and hot. Not a third quality first growth really in 2007 – more like much more ordinary quality. (JR)
