It is a shame not much of this is produced as it is a wonderful introduction into the style of Chateau Latour. Sweet black currant fruit intermixed with graphite/lead pencil shavings are offered in a plump, elegant style with good flavor, density, and intensity. This beautifully made wine can be drunk over the next 10-12 years if not longer.

Pretty decent colour with a purple rim and wood shavings nose. Mulberries on the nose and a slightly short, rasping finish. Very sharp Cabernet flavours dominate even though the grape constitutes only 56 per cent of the blend. Not that much tannin in reserve (even though this blend is made up of 18 per cent press wine) but certainly no shortage of acidity. Correct, for early drinking. (JR)
