1998 Sangiovese Casalferro

Deep, blackish color. Important, penetrating nose combines blackcurrant, plum, charcoal, graphite and vanilla. A bit less impressive on the palate: boasts good size and weight, and ripe fruit, but doesn't possess quite the density or concentration of an outstanding bottle. Finishes quite fresh, though, with supple tannins.
