The 2011 Meursault Les Terres Blanches literally sizzles on the palate with salivating acidity and minerality. Green pears, crushed rocks, oyster shells and lime all jump out of the glass. The appropriately named Terres Blanches is all about focus, clarity and delineation. The crystalline finish is hugely appealing.

Here an expressive nose weaves together notes of white orchard fruit, lemon rind, grilled almonds and floral aromas. There is a pronounced citrus character to the lightly mineral-inflected medium-bodied flavors that possess good detail and cut as well as a fine minerality on the focused, very dry and ever-so-mildly austere finish. This will require 5 to 7 years of cellar time to be at its best. Tasted: Jun 15, 2014. Drink: 2017+
