Still showing beautifully, the 2009 Château Clos De Sarpe offers a rich, powerful, full-bodied style as well as lots of classic Saint-Emilion chocolately dark fruits, bouquet garni, tobacco, earth, and scorched earth. This rich, sexy 2009 has ripe, sweet tannins, a layered, expansive mouthfeel, no hard edges, and a great finish. These wines have serious longevity, and this 2009 can be drunk any time over the coming 30-40 years.

The 2009 Clos de Sarpe is deep garnet colored with a drop-dead gorgeous nose of crème de cassis, blackberry pie and black plum preserves with hints of hoisin, espresso, exotic spices, licorice and fruitcake. Full-bodied, rich and decadent, it has a wonderfully elegant structure of exquisitely ripe, silky tannins and spectacular freshness, carrying the dense fruit to the long finish.

I like the intense and concentrated nose of ripe berry in this young red. Full-bodied, dense and juicy, with round, rich tannins and a long finish
