2002 Riesling Cuvee Ste Catherine

Highly aromatic nose combines apricot, orange peel, quinine and ginger. Fatter and sweeter than the 2001 but less precise and less obviously structured. But this is classic rich, dry riesling with good stony underpinning. Began slightly reduced but seemed to grow brighter and livelier as it opened in the glass. Carrying six grams of sugar but also considerably higher acidity than the 2001 bottling.
