Bright ruby-red. Pure, minerally aromas of blackberry, strawberry, raspberry and violet pastille. Dense, stony and sweet; this offers lovely vibrancy as well as a seductively round, seamless texture. Finishes with very suave tannins and terrific length. In its best vintages, like this one, Leroy's Fremières strikes me as distinctly Musigny-like, even though this village parcel is a good kilometer north of Musigny.
