Deep red-ruby. Medicinal black cherry, licorice, tobacco and menthol on the nose. Rich, supple and sweet but still youthfully closed; more muscular than the Beaux-Monts but at the same time more exotic and chocolatey. Finishes sweet and long, with substantial ripe tannins. "The '05s are huge wines that need a good seven or eight years," notes Meunier, "and they should have no problem holding their fruit."

Good dark red-ruby. Slightly reduced aromas of raspberry and chalky minerals. Suave and silky on entry, then sweet and aromatic in the middle, with good stony lift. Finishes with ripe, broad, fine-grained tannins.
