Very very sweet and rich syrup – rosehip syrup? There is, yet again, a hint of rose petals! but there is good acidity. This wine should be destined for a relatively long life. (JR)

(prices not yet set for the 2001s) There is a slight note of fatigue on the nose here from absence of sulfur. In the mouth, though, the combination of viscosity with clarity and brightness of grapefruit, sage and blackcurrant flavors is scintillating. Resin, cinnamon, citrus rind and chocolate notes add further complexity to a long, strong finish. 2 stars.
