2012 Vosne Romanee Les Malconsorts

Tasting notes
A brooding and still very tight nose only grudgingly reveals subtle spice nuances on the dark berry fruit aromas that are trimmed in a more moderate application of wood. There is excellent size, weight and power to the broad-shouldered flavors that exude a fine minerality on the impressively long and very firmly structured finish. This is very Malconsorts in basic character as there is plenty of muscle. Tasted: Apr 15, 2014. Drink: 2027+

The 2012 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Malconsorts is much more expressive and captivating on the nose compared to the other three premier crus, adorned with gorgeous briary, wild hedgerow, raspberry, blackberry and mineral scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a sophisticated, refined entry that gradually builds in the mouth towards a sensual and suave, velvety smooth finish that lingers. Wonderful.
