Tasting notes
(made by Pierre Navrocki, who was responsible for this estate's wines from 1998 through 2004): Good medium red. Evolving, wild aromas and flavors of raspberry, plum, leather, game, mocha and underbrush. Explosively rich, creamy and sweet, offering superb volume without any rough edges. For all its ripeness, this wine also shows a cool, mentholated aspect and a faintly balsamic quality on the back end, where the serious broad tannins will support some further aging. But this is wonderfully satisfying right now.

Good medium-deep red. Reticent, subtle aromas of wild strawberry, fresh rose and spicy oak; opened nicely with aeration. Juicy, edgy and on the lean side, with pure, sharply focused flavors of cherry, raspberry and minerals. Tightly wound and a bit youthfully clenched, with the tannins showing a slight dryness today.
