Mid crimson. Heady, chocolatey nose. Intense, but well mannered, on the palate. Some evidence of oak on the finish. A bit jagged with intrusive tannins. (JR)
Slightly less impressive from bottle than from cask, this is still an excellent effort, offering a deep ruby color, a sweet nose of mocha and berries, dry, extracted, yet fleshy flavors, medium body, and light to moderate tannin in the finish. There is a certain angularity to the tannin, suggesting 1-3 years of cellaring is required. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2016.
Intense aromas of plums, minerals and light spice. Medium- to full-bodied, with fine, silky tannins and a mineral, berry aftertaste. A fine wine, but the 1998 is better. Best after 2006. 5,000 cases made. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2003

Named after its founder, Bernard Beauregard, this property is one of few Pomerol addresses to have an actual château – here a stately 18th-century construction designed by the man behind Bordeaux’s Grand Théâtre.
