Tasting notes
(just one and a half barrels made): Good bright, dark red. Ripe black fruits, coffee and mocha on the slightly evolved nose. Rich, ripe and chocolatey, but still fresher than the Corvees Pagets. Possesses good chewy material to support its broad tannins. Plenty of intensity here, and adequate energy, but this very concentrated wine should also evolve quickly.

(racked and sulfited): Bright, dark red. Complex, slightly wild aromas of cherry compote, flowers and cocoa powder. At once ripe and dry: less evolved today than the Chaumes and showing a less exotic character to its red fruit flavors. Tight, pure wine with sweet tannins and a slightly drying touch of mint on the end.
The expressive and notably ripe nose is attractively fresh with its airy and cool spicy black fruit, red currant and wet stone aromas. There is good punch to the understated and mineral-driven middle weight flavors that possess lovely detail on the racy, intense and wonderfully lingering finish. This is classy juice that is beautifully well-balanced. Tasted: Jan 15, 2014. Drink: 2019+
