Score 90/100 · Drink 2016-2030, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, May 2016

The 2006 d'Arche has an intriguing bouquet with dried honey, cotton candy, almond and quince aromas that are nicely defined. The palate is fresh on the entry with candied orange peel, fresh pear and quince, nicely balanced with a fresh and energetic finish suggesting that this Sauternes will offer 12-15 years more pleasure. Tasted April 2016.

Coppery.  Lightly powdery nose.  Very sweet and concentrated with (just) enough acidity.  Already quite evolved.  This would stand up to a lot of sweet foods.  Rather a simple, sugary finish.  Pretty chewy end. (JR)

Open, tropical nose. Sweet and slightly burnt with a lime marmalade note. Acidity triumphs over sweetness. A little gawky for a Sauternes. Not mellifluous. Messy, rather drying finish with some heat (JR)
