Medium red. Redcurrant, spices and wild herbs on the nose. Spicy, herbal and rather easygoing; comes across as less complex and less delineated than the Faconnieres, with moderate structure and grip. Should reach its peak within four or five years. The 2002 version has more concentration and depth.

(from vines replanted in 1990; in 2001 Lignier green-harvested here soon after the flowering to cut yields) Medium red. Pure aromas of briary cherry, dark chocolate and coffee. Fat and sweet; a distinctly fruity style of Clos de la Roche, though not particularly complex. Finishes ripely tannic and long. "For the debutant taster," says Lignier.
