Transparent, glossy rusty red. Fragrant and a bit gamey but not excessively so. Sweet at the start. Sweetness on the end. Juicy but just a tad chewy on the end. Very lively and with a future. Very long. Very transparent. (JR)

A wine that merits patience is the deeply saturated Clos de la Roche. Highly structured, with noticeable tough, hard tannins, fine concentration, and a dry, austere, unflattering finish, it displays attractive weight and ripeness. However, the tannins may outlast the fruit. Pinot Noir with this much tannin always makes me nervous. Importer: Louis-Dressner Selections, New York, NY.
