Tasting notes
Good medium red. Plum, minerals and brown spices on the nose, plus a whiff of humus. Lush on entry, then sweet and shapely, with very good flavor definition. Powerful, rich and concentrated. Very vineyard-typical in its notes of mocha, earth, smoked meat and roasted herbs. Finishes long and ripely tannic. An excellent showing.

Good bright, full red. Subdued but complex nose melds raspberry, cherry, mocha, flowers, brown spices and oak. Sweet, supple and creamy, with sexy wild red berry and spice flavors and very good concentration. Like most of the Lecheneauts' other 2003s, this shows nicely ripe, pliant tannins but this cuvee will really be better for five or six years of bottle aging.
