Tasting notes
Bright ruby-red. Expressive nose offers blueberry, blackberry, espresso, bitter chocolate and a whiff of meat, plus a minty nuance that emerges with air. Supple, dry and rich, with ripe, firm flavors of dark berries, licorice and menthol. Finishes with plenty of ripe tannins and good length and lift. A very good Bolaire for enjoying over the next seven or eight years.

A sleeper of the vintage for sure, this dense, ripe, dark ruby/purple-colored wine, made from a whopping 39% Petit Verdot, 34% Merlot and 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, exhibits some tobacco leaf, black currants, licorice, roasted coffee and forest floor. It is ripe, medium to full-bodied in texture, pure, impressively endowed, and should drink deliciously for at least another 2-4 years, possibly longer.
Tasted at a négociant. This has a silky nose of black cherries and black plum with a touch of creme de menthe. The palate has fine definition, very well balanced with grainy, off-dry tannins towards the finish. This is a very accomplished Bordeaux Superieur that should represent outstanding value. Tasted March 2010.
