Low-key nose. Suave style of wine but a bit too introverted at the moment. Chewy, rather stodgy finish. Could do with a little more lift. (JR)

The finest Monbrison produced in many years, the ruby/purple-colored, medium-bodied 2000 exhibits sweet floral, mineral, and currant notes, subtle toasty oak, ripe tannin, and a long, persistent finish. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2014.
