The 2006 Gracia has a smudged red cherry, warm brick and melted tar-scented nose that is holding up well. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry, showing much more freshness and delineation compared to the 2006 Magrez-Fombrauge, with tobacco and tar infusing the dusky black fruit on the almost Left Bank-like finish. Enjoy this over the next 5-7 years. Tasted April 2016.

Direct, frank, slightly awkward fruit without much terroir. Fine tannins and dry sandiness on the finish. Not mellifluous. Pretty green. (JR)

Bright ruby-red. Restrained but very pure nose hints at dark berries, minerals and sexy oak spices. Dense and suave in the mouth, with insidious complexity and very good lift to the cherry, berry, mineral and floral flavors. Not at all overly sweet but has a texture of liquid velvet. Finishes long and vinous, with palate-saturating flavor and lovely clarity and lift. The wine's harmonious acidity carries the fruit, while its very suave tannins are currently in the deep background. This has turned out very well.

Good full medium ruby. Sexy aromas of black raspberry, violet, espresso, bitter chocolate and nutty oak. Sweet, dense and thick but light on its feet; sexy in a somewhat international way. A chocolatey-rich wine that seems a bit less worked than the 2007, but Gracia notes that he also bled off 15% to 20% of the juice in 2006. Finishes with big but ripe tannins and very good lift.
