Tasting notes
The 2000 Sigalas Rabaud has a light and somewhat ephemeral nose that is not underripe per se, yet it seems like it would blow away in the lightest breeze. The palate is well-balanced with grapefruit, tangerine and citrus peel. It's straightforward, but it would be going too far to describe it as 'monotone'. I can imagine this working as an aperitif, but otherwise, this is a vintage to drink in the near future and move quickly on. Tasted at the Sigalas Rabaud vertical at the winery.

A simple, straightforward bouquet of almond cookies intermixed with a hint of pineapple is followed by a medium-bodied, moderately sweet Sauternes without a great deal of distinction or complexity. Drink it over the next decade.
