The 1975 Doisy-Daëne is surprisingly light in colour, more so than the 1983. The bouquet offers candlewax, lemon rind and wet wool scents. The palate is well balanced with a slightly dry-ish opening, moderate weight, tapering a little towards the finish that suggests bottles should be consumed in the near future. Tasted at the vertical at Doisy-Daëne.

Some disturbing sulphur aromas in the bouquet seem to constantly appear in bottles of this wine. On the palate, the wine is rich and creamy, with a honeyed, pineapple fruitiness, and a succulent, sweet finish. The taste is considerably better than the bouquet. Anticipated maturity: Now. About the producer
This Second Growth estate has origins dating back to the late 1800s. It is, however, under the ownership of the Dubourdieu family – who took over the Barsac property in 1924 – that Ch. Doisy-Daëne truly flourished.
