Score 91/100 · Drink 2013-2017, Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate, Apr 2013

Breggo’s 2010 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard beautifully captures the house style. Small red berries, crushed rocks, flowers and mint are all woven together nicely in this mid-weight, expressive Pinot. Here, too, the French oak is a bit noticeable. A feminine Pinot, the Savoy is best enjoyed over the next few years. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2017. Breggo is Cliff Lede’s Anderson Valley project. This year, at last, I preferred the Pinots over the whites. The 2010s still have a sheen of new French oak. I would prefer to give the wines another 6-12 months in bottle to see if the elements fuse together a little more completely. Still, that is a relatively small critique. There is a lot to like in this range from Breggo. Tel. (707) 895-9589

Vivid ruby. Sexy aromas of dark berry compote, anise, vanilla and cola, with a spicy topnote. Sappy, palate-staining black raspberry and mulberry flavors show impressive depth and focus, with a floral pastille nuance building on the back half. Closes on a sweet note, with excellent focus and lingering floral character.
