Medium red. Raspberry, cherry, menthol, herbs and earth on the nose. Bright, nicely delineated flavors of red fruits, minerals and spices. Brisk, shapely and youthful, with a slightly dry-edged, minerally back end.
Loads of cherry jam can be found in the nose of the 2001 Corton-Pougets. Ample, expansive, medium-bodied, and studded with sweet bing cherries, this wine's long finish also reveals a firm backbone armed with a tannic edge. Projected maturity: 2006-2012.
