Tasting notes
Bright lemon, citrus and white flower notes jump from the glass in the 2011 Meursault. There is good balance in the glass, even if the finish is a bit uncharacteristically dry and firm for the year. The 2011 might merit a higher score if bottle age helps soften some of the contours.

A cool and notably restrained nose offers up notes of hazelnut, citrus rind, pear and a soft touch of green apple. There is good energy and fine delineation to the delicious middle weight flavors that exude a lovely minerality on the still markedly tight, linear and agreeably dry finish. This will need some time to develop more depth but the underlying material is certainly present. Lovely and fashioned in an understated style. Tasted: Oct 15, 2013. Drink: 2017+
About the producer

Having established Domaine des Comtes Lafon as one of the finest addresses in Burgundy, Dominique Lafon set up an eponymous négociant business in 2008. The vines are all farmed by the Lafon team and the wines generally leaner than those of Comtes Lafon, with less new oak.
