Score 88/100 · Drink 1996-2003, Robert Parker, Feb 1996
Much more youthful than either the 1977 or 1978, the 1968 displays plenty of amber in its dark garnet color, a sweet nose of smoky, hickory-scented, earthy, cherry fruit, medium to full body, a fresh, vibrant flavor profile, a chewy texture, and a long, ripe finish with well-integrated tannin and acidity. This attractive, well-made wine should drink well for another 5-7 years. A Leonardo LoCasio Selection, imported by Winebow Imports, Hohokus, NJ; (800) 445-0620.
