Medium red. Raspberry and oak spices on the nose. Supple, sweet and easygoing, with ripe red fruit flavors and suave tannins.

Quite deep crimson. Very full, opulent initial impression. Very distinctive. One of relatively few wines with a real beginning, middle and end to it. The 2003 and 2004 vintages here were overseen by Michelle Richardson (now developing her own label Richardson for wines from Central Otago and Marlborough). Fine tannins, perceptible acidity. The 2002 is hot, soft and redolent of black cherries. (JR)
