Vegetal and mushroom aromas. The black cherry fruit is still intact on the palate but seems to be fading. Soft, fine tannins. Nicely balanced now, with plenty of secondary complexity. Unlikely to improve further. (RH)

Soft, ripe, and fruity, with big, smoky, charred berry-like scents intermixed with tobacco and plum aromas, this medium-bodied 2000 is best drunk over the next 8-10 years.
Beautiful aromas of spices, berries and plums. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a clean finish. Best after 2005. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2003
About the producer
Historically Château Labégorce was one of the largest estates in the Médoc. It was originally owned by the Grosse family (or Gorce – hence the name) whose ownership dates back to the 14th century.
