FINE+RARE, Sep 2022

Remoissenet has access to some of Burgundy’s top vineyards via extremely prestigious connections. This wine comes from a slice of the Premier Cru Les Vergers, an east-facing vineyard toward Saint-Aubin that produces some particularly fine Chardonnay. From the 2011 vintage, it’s now drinking beautifully with well-defined and pure fruit.

The more tense, mineral-driven side of Chassagne comes through in the 2011 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vergers. Citrus, oyster shells, white flowers and spices are some of the aromas and flavors that take shape in the glass. The Vergers is endowed with striking energy, and sense of direction that is impossible to miss. This is a slightly atypical 2011 for its tension. Personally, this is a style I like very much.
