Tasting notes
The 2000 Chablis Valmur displays resiny flint aromas and a layered, deep character packed with smoky stones, minerals, and flint. This deep, medium-bodied, concentrated wine reveals a satiny richness as well as a long, expressive finish. Anticipated maturity: now-2012. Importer: Clicquot, Inc., New York, NY; tel. (212) 888-7575

Mineral-scented nose; very very taut and intensely concentrated. Relatively chewy but convincing. For the very long term... (JR)
Pale green-tinged yellow. Ineffable aromas of spices, fresh herbs, wet stone and mint. Big, rich and ripe but high-pitched and backward, with almost painfully penetrating minerality. Wonderfully pure and strong in extract. Great slow-building, long finish boasts superb flavor intensity and vibrancy.
