Tasting notes
Bright, pale yellow. Sexy, expressive aromas of white peach, clove and menthol. Sweet, concentrated and fruit-driven, with excellent energy and a distinct old-viney intensity. A floral element adds lift and perfume to the middle palate. This rather powerful Combettes seems quite young today and in need of bottle aging. A superb showing. Made entirely from old vines, and with no rot here in 2008.

Bright and citrussy on the nose. Clean and crisp but not as long as the Chassagne-Montrachet Clos du Cailleret. (JH)
(domain wine) Musky aromas of citrus peel, lemon icing, flowers and vanillin oak. In a sweeter style than the Folatieres, but with very good density nicely leavened by strong acidity and mineral spine. Plenty of extract here. Very Combettes in style.
