Very ripe, musky aromas and flavors of orange, marzipan, iodine and dusty stone. The fattest, sweetest and richest of this trio of Puligny premier crus but with plenty of firming acidity. A note of hazelnut adds complexity. Finishes impressively long, with an almost white-peppery minerality.

Perfumed nose combines white peach, citrus skin, spring flowers, minerals, hazelnut and vanilla; I might have picked this as Meursault. Dense, sappy and chewy, with highly perfumed flavors of citrus and spices. Impressively rich and fine, with terrific depth of fruit; fat but vibrant. This has grand cru texture and length. From older vines that yielded between 45 and 48 hectoliters per hectare, low for this plethoric vintage. These were the best-looking grapes among our premier crus, notes Girardin.
