Score 88+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2004

Soft citrus fruits and spices on the nicely detailed nose. Juicy and rather delicate, with pure flavors of orange juice and spices. Not at all a fat style but elegant and subtle. The Limozin is fuller and perhaps longer, though.

Score 87-89/100 · Drink 2004-2009, Pierre Rovani, Feb 2004

Gorgeous aromas of minerals, candied hazelnuts, and spices can be discerned in the nose of the 2002 Meursault Narvaux. It expands on the palate, displaying minerals, lemons, spices, and hints of candied grapefruit. At present, its finish is slightly tight yet Latour vows to continue its elevage until it properly fleshes out. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. Jean-Pierre Latour defines the 2002 vintage for white Burgundies as “tenderness plus fruit, like 1992 but with the freshness of 1996.” He went on to add that he was “stupefied by the completeness of the 2002s. Analytically, they are like the 2000s, but tender, not square like the 2000s.” This estate began harvesting its wines on the 20th of September.
