Healthy dark crimson. Fresh, very ripe with some medicinal quality. Quite vibrant and salty but tannic and hard work on the palate. Honest, typical Australian Shiraz though without many hidden depths. Sharp. Very tannic. (JR)

The opaque purple-colored 2001 Shiraz tastes extremely sweet (because of the high glycerin levels as well as fruit extract) with velvety tannin, gorgeously proportioned, full-bodied flavors, and muscle, intensity, and elegance. Additionally, this super Shiraz is fairly priced. It should drink well for 10-15 years. Importer: George Galey, American Estates Wines, Summit, NJ; tel. (908) 273-5060
