2001 Grenache Purisima Mountain Vineyard

Revealing a deep, saturated purple color as well as black fruit, licorice, and cherry liqueur notes, the 2001 Grenache Purisima Mountain is medium to full-bodied, with a plump, fleshy texture, and excellent purity. Good dark, bright red. Cherry, raspberry, strawberry and minerals on the slightly roasted nose. Juicy, bright and penetrating, with slightly gamey red fruit flavors given sharp definition by vibrant acidity. With its very firm spine, this is quite different in style from Beckmen's lusher and more forward estate grenache. Finishes long and aromatic, with building but sweet tannins.
