Score 86-87/100 · Drink 1998-2008, Robert Parker, Feb 1998
A potential sleeper of the vintage, this reasonably priced, well-made St.-Estephe displays a dense ruby/purple color, as well as plenty of cassis and fruit in its straightforward but satisfying nose. Ripe, with dense, sweet flavors on the attack, and chewy levels of glycerin, this foursquare yet plump, attractive wine should drink well for a decade. This is a seriously run, small estate of 17+ acres planted with 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc. Both the 1995 and 1996 vintages merit interest, particularly for those seeking value in Bordeaux.
