Musky aromas of ripe pear, honey, white truffle and smoky lees. Round, sweet and seamless; fatter than the Blagny, with a honeyed quality to the rather soft flavors of apple and pear. This silky, nicely concentrated wine spreads out to saturate the mouth. Boasts deeper material than the Blagny but I preferred the last wine for its limey, floral lift.

The 2011 Meursault Poruzots bursts from the glass with tons of pure energy. Smoke and spice notes wrap around a core of expressive fruit. This is a decidedly explosive, intense Meursault. It is just a bit less finessed than some of the other wines in the range, but that in now way detracts from the immense pleasure it provides. There is a lot to look forward to.
There is enough reduction present to mask what appears to be very ripe fruit. There is by contrast good freshness and punch to the beautifully detailed, robust and powerful middle weight flavors that possess a textured, precise and well-balanced finish that is markedly dry but not really overtly austere. This is the biggest wine in the range though as is typically the case, certainly not the most refined. Tasted: Jun 15, 2014. Drink: 2017+
